Literacy for the iGeneration

This past week, we met in the computer lab in Kearney to begin work on our Digital Storytelling projects. We started the class by discussing what digital storytelling. Basically, using PowerPoint of other medium programs you tell a story of an event or topic using mainly pictures and a few words scattered through. Dr. Jacobs showed us a few examples that people had done using text, voice narratives and a combination of both. After this we were given the freedom to play around with some ideas and begin work on our own digital storytelling project which we will present to the class the Tuesday of finals week. I think this is a great project that can be utilized as part of an anticipatory set for a classroom lesson.
